Flowers are so easy to photograph, and they are so beautiful. It’s a no-brainer. Shoot some flowers and liven up your photo repertoire.
First, be careful of your focus. If you get too close—and you should get some close-in shots—make sure you’re not too close to be out of focus.
If you shoot a group of flowers, some may be in focus while others are not. You have to decide which flowers you want to be in focus.
Second, be careful of your shadow. Flowers can look great in direct sunlight, but your shadow may get in the way.
Third, find a place where flowers accentuate the neighborhood.
Fourth, try different angles. Always shooting from a standing position may render your flower photo collection boring. Get down to the flower level (or even below) for some of your shots.
Fifth, avoid overexposure in bright sunlight. If your phone camera has exposure compensation, dial in –1 or whatever works to keep the light-colored flowers from burning out.
Get out and take some flower photos.
