Holiday parties can be photo ops, particularly when they’re a little out of the ordinary. I went to a Hanukah Hootenanny party at the Judd Hill Winery in Napa Valley and had some fun shooting. Wineries are out of my normal realm, so the photos I took seemed a little offbeat to me and made a unique holiday album.
There was good food and also wine tasting with greater quantities than normal poured into the glass.
I ate more than my share of kosher gold coins.
And the band played on.
An interesting place.
The vines were ready for winter, but the grass was green. It doesn’t freeze in Napa, and the winter rains bring the arid brown landscape to life while the vines rest. For the party, we had the free run of the place, and it was an unusual chance to take some photos of wine country outside the normal tourist hangouts.
You never know where you might end up at a holiday party. So keep your phone camera in mind and your battery charged.
